That is why the allocation for the next budget is being increased from the budget of the current financial year to Tk 633 crore. Besides, the number of financial beneficiaries under social security is being increased from 81 lakh to about 1 crore. In the coming budget, the allocation for this sector is being increased from Tk 74,367 crore to Tk 76,000 crore. Social Welfare Secretary Mohammad Zainul Bari said that it has been decided to increase the number of beneficiaries under social security in the budget of 2020-2021 financial year with emphasis on tackling the impact of corona. Plans have been finalized to increase this number by at least 20 per cent over the existing number of beneficiaries. This number may increase further at the last minute. However, it will not be less than 20 percent.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the number of beneficiaries in the social security sector is usually increased
by 10 percent every year. The number of poor people in the country is expected to increase in the next financial year
due to the impact of coronavirus. Therefore, the number of beneficiaries in the social security sector is being

budget has been increased from Tk 74,367 crore to Tk 1,633 crore and Tk 6,000 crore is also being made. However,
in the coming budget, even though the number and allocation of beneficiaries has increased, the amount of benefits
is not being increased. It is learned that the beneficiaries will get the same amount of assistance in the current budget
as in the current budget.
Social security is the system of providing all kinds of assistance to the poor and disadvantaged people of the country.
The government's poverty alleviation strategy identifies 14 social security programs. At present, the number of
beneficiaries in the social security sector under various programs is 81 lacs. Even if it is increased by 20 percent in
the next budget, this number will increase by another 16, 20, 000. As such, the number of beneficiaries of social
security in the budget will be 97, 20,000 people
