The information was given by the Road Transport and Highways Department through a press release yesterday, said the department’s Deputy Chief Information Officer, Abu Naser, reports Banglanews24.
The notification read that despite the ban on passenger transport in goods vehicles on highways across the country, it is continuing tactfully. This is tantamount to disobeying the government order and is a punishable offense under the Road Transport Act 2018, reports the Daily Bangladesh.
Following the general holiday, an order was issued extending the decision to stop public transport until May 30. Earlier, several freight vehicles were caught transporting people from one place to another.
