 Road Safety Foundation has urged the government to enforce a lockdown 10 days before and after Eid-ul-Fitr across the country to contain the spread of the coronavirus, reports Jago News.
 Prof Dr AI Mahbub Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of Road Safety Foundation, Vice Chairman Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua and Executive Director Saidur Rahman made the demand after issuing a media release yesterday.
 According the media release, the coronavirus situation is worsening day by day in the country. Against this backdrop, the government extended general holidays till May 30.
 However, the movement of people has increased as the apparel factories and businesses have been allowed to reopen on a limited scale. Eid-ul-Fitr is going to be celebrated amid the general holidays in the country.
 Expressing grave concern, the organization said that people are heading for their homes by motorcycles, private cars, microbus, freight vehicles and light vehicles. That’s why; the coronavirus situation will go bad to worse.
