 The lockdown was imposed on Pahartali Road in South Tekpara’s Kacchhapia intersection to Pallabi lane via Khorshed Bhaban area, reports The Daily Star.
 Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Mahmud Ullah Maruf announced the lockdown yesterday and hoisted red flags in the area to stop the coronavirus outbreak, reports our local correspondent. Meanwhile, Bandarban district administration has decided to lockdown three of its popular tourist centres—Lama, Alikadam and Naikhongchhari upazila, reports Dhaka Tribune.
The decision comes as a means to prevent the spread of the virus, with the first patients having tested positive for the virus in Cox’s Bazar, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Shamim Hossain yesterday, while confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
