Imrul Hossain for DOT
Responding to the call of his country, Charl Langaveldt left the job of pace bowling coach of Bangladesh. Currently, he is the bowling coach of South Africa national cricket team. After the departure, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is now looking for a new coach ahead of the Pakistan tour. Under the circumstances, Ottis Delroy Gibson, former head coach for the West Indies and cricketer (2010-2014) has shown his eagerness to coach Bangladeshi pacers.
Meanwhile, the BCB has already talked to Gibson for appointing him as the pace bowling coach.
“Discussion is underway. But nothing has been finalized yet. Let’s see what happens. I love Cricket and coaching the bowlers. Definitely I will accept the offer to coach the pacers,” said Gibson while talking to the reporters at Mirpur National Cricket Academy yesterday.
Previously, Gibson worked twice as bowling coach for England, from 2007-2010 and again 2015-2017.
Gibson last coached the South African cricket team from 2017- 2019.
