DOT Desk:A youth was killed and three others injured in a clash over sharing money earned from a sand quarry at Sonargaon upazila of in Narayanganj on Sunday night.The deceased was identified as Zakir Hossain, 32, son of late Aroj Ali of Tekpara Amirabad area of the upazila, reports Daily Sun.
There injured persons – Al-Amin, 33, Abu Hanif, 31, and Siraj, 37 — were sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for medical treatment.Confirming the incident, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sonargaon Police Station Moniruzzaman said, “The clash broke out at Tekpara Amirabad in Baidyer Bazar union of the upazila at 10:30 am last night.”
Quoting locals Moniruzzaman said, “A clash broke out over between the followers of Nabi Hossain and Amir Hossain over sharing money earned from sand, lifted from the Meghna River near Sonargaon upzaila. Gun battle took place during the clash.”
The OC said, “Zakir was rushed to the DMCH, where duty doctors declared him dead.”
“The body of the deceased has been sent to the DMCH for an autopsy while the injured persons were taking treatment at the same hospital,” he added.
