Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that it is not natural gas rather it is liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) which is imported and will be sold to India after being bottled here, reports Bangla Insider.
While addressing media yesterday she said, “Bangladesh is importing LPG from abroad. We will export the LPG to India after bottling and meeting the demands of the country people.”
Referring to the past, she said, “In the past BNP came to power by selling the country’s interests. The president of USA gave the proposal to me. Meetings were held at the caretaker government’s house. Zillur Rahman and I left from there. But Khaleda and Mannan Bhuiyan were sitting to do the agreement.”
The premier said that a vested quarter has been criticising the government saying that Bangladesh is going to sell natural gas to India.
A press conference was held in her official residence Gono Bhaban in Dhaka at 3:30pm yesterday, which has been arranged to brief media about the outcome of her recent official visits to USA and India.
