Mahzabin Haque from Sylhet, Bangladesh has been appointed as the first Bengali woman to become a software engineer at US space research firm, NASA. Her success has created a festive spirit between the Bengali community in Sylhet and in Michigan of United States.
This year, Mahzabin graduated in Computer Science and Engineering from Wayne State University in the state of Michigan. Their home district is in Kadamrasul village of Golapganj upazila. They are permanent residents of the Kazitula Haq building in Sylhet city.
Mahzabin, also a painter and designer, moved to the United States with her parents. Her father, Syed Enamul Haque stays in Sylhet for work while her mother Ferdousi Chowdhury and only brother Syed Samiul Haque stay with Mahzabin. Syed Samiul Haque works in the US Army.
While studying at Wayne State University, Mahzabin Haque interned at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. During her internship, she worked as a data analyst in the first phase and in the second phase; she worked as a software developer in mission control.
Mahzabin said that she worked in two important departments for eight months in two terms. She has gained huge experience through her work. She has got job offers from many reputed companies in the world including NASA, Amazon. She chose NASA to work.
