As per the directive of the Prime Minister, the process of canceling all examinations from 1st to 3rd grade has been finalized. The Minister of State for Primary and Mass Education said that the system will be implemented experimentally in 100 schools next year. Appreciating the initiative, educators say that future generations will be more prosperous with such a decision. In this direction, children as well as parents feel themselves stress-free, reports Somoy TV.
Tuba is a grade one student at a private school in the capital. She has to finish homework every day after returning from school, then go to coachings as well as home reading, a much harder. She has no leisure to play.
There are many more students like Tuba. Recently, almost all parents are competing for the academic results of their child. Every student is bearing a huge burden of studies. However, the parents were happy to hear of the cancellation of examinations from the 1th grade recently.
Educators are taking the government’s decision positively. They also believe that teachers’ commitment and sincere are needed to implement this method.
Dr. M Ahiduzzaman said, “We who are teachers, we have to be more sincere.”
The teachers will be given training in this regard, said the Primary and Mass Education Minister.
Primary and Mass Education Deputy Minister, Zakir Hossain said. “We look at it as a pilot project”.
Even if there is no exam, students will be evaluated in the classroom and they will be evaluated by the class teachers.
A student spends half of his day at school. Therefore, the government’s decision to cancel the exam till 3rd grade would be helpful for a student to develop his or her intellect and mindset.
