BNP will form human chain to raise voices for release of Khaleda Zia from prison on Wednesday in Dhaka and across the country on Thursday.
Apart from it, divisional assembly will be held on September 26 in Mymensingh and on September 29 in Rajshahi. Also there is the chance of an assembly to be stages in Sylhet on September 21, according to a report of Bengali daily Manab Zamin.
Finally another divisional assembly will be staged in Rangpur demanding for release of Khaleda Zia, said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at a press briefing at the BNP central office in Naya Paltan.
Fakhrul said that Khaleda Zia has been detained in a false case. This iconoclastic leader of democracy is not being released for her movement to restore the democracy. Now her physical condition is really precarious.
Secretary General of BNP also said, “We have been repeatedly asking for her treatment in any hospital of her preference. But we are not getting the permission. She is very sick but the Director and Assistant Director of PG hospital state that she is totally okay.”
“So it is crystal clear that conspiracy to send her to prison without offering her proper treatment is being made. Recently her family members and we went to meet her and saw that she cannot get up from bed. She has to move with support of two assistants. She cannot grip anything in her hands. Her condition of diabetes is also not stable,” he added.
Mirza Fakhrul further opined that Khaleda Zia’s physical condition is already numb. If she does not get any proper treatment now, her condition will be even more fatal. She has been detained in prison just to eliminate the political opposition. She is being deprived of better options for her treatment and thus being led to death which cannot be accepted. Her proper treatment is possible only through her release.
The press briefing was also attended by other permanent committeee members of BNP including Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Vice- Chairman Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Assistant Organizing Secretary Abdus Salam Azad and others.
