Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan rebuked parents to bring their children back home before evening to prevent the recent trend of teenage gangs, reports Dhaka Tribune.
He said, “We’re observing that teenage gangs are staying out of home till late at night. We request guardians to bring their children back home before evening.”
In a conference over drug crime prevention, child torture, eve teasing, child marriage and misuse of internet he made the statements where he was chief guest.
He said that the teenagers involved in gangs will be punished under the Children Act 2013.
The program was arranged by the Bangladesh retiree police officers’ welfare association where Professor AAMS Arefin Siddiquie was main speaker.
Arefin Siddique said, “Drug addiction is driving teenagers to suicide. Families are being ruined by people addicted to drugs. In this sphere, education should be used as strong tool.”
