The test match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan beginning from today at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram which is scheduled to start at 10:00 am, and through this match Bangladesh wants to get back into the winning route as they take on Afghanistan in the one-off, reports Daily Bangladesh.
In a pre-match conference yesterday Bangladesh cricket team captain Shakib al Hasan said regarding the test match today that, “Winning the match is the most important thing, no matter if we win it by one run or 100 runs.”
It is to be mentioned that, Bangladesh team is unable to present any positive accomplishment since a while. They lost their last two Test matches against New Zealand before the third and last match of the series was called off following a terrorist attack in two mosques in Christchurch. Moreover, They even lost their last series against West Indies in T20 International. Stressing about the situation Sakib said that, “Our cricket teams are in a very unimpressive condition at this moment whether it is a national team or academy team or other teams. So, right now our top priority is to win the match”. So, the match beginning from today is an open scope for the Tigers to come out of the shameful condition.
However, this is Bangladesh’s first Test in which they are going to wear the jersey with name and number at the appearance of the World Test Championship. Although he match is not included in Bangladesh World Cup Championship game but like the jersey trial, the match is also a trial for them for growing the confidence among themselves ahead of their two-match series against India later.
