While distributing free mosquito repellent aerosol spray cans among the taxpayers of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) yesterday at the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Auditorium in the city’s Nagar Bhaban, regarding this Dengue outbreak hit in the city, DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon said that, he and his staffs are ready to visit the houses of the city dwellers and spray mosquito repellent aerosol to kill Aedes mosquito around the house, if they allow them, reports Daily Sun. The Mayor said that, “Aedes mosquitoes do not come home from far outside, rather they breed in the water accumulated in the flower tubs or other stuff inside and around the houses; so the mosquitoes usually rest inside the house.” Therefore seeking city dwellers’ cooperation to tackle the Dengue situation they are willing to work in every house of the city, added the Mayor. Earlier, he suggested the citizens of the city corporation to wear long pants, pyjamas and socks especially in the day time to remain protected from the Aedes mosquito bites. He further announced that the city corporation will distribute mosquito repellent aerosol spray free of cost among 1 lakh 63 thousands taxpayers.
