National Eidgah set for Eid convention

Preparations are done to hold the main Eid-ul-Azha jamaat at the National Eidgah on the capital’s High Court premises on Eid day, reports BSS.
Yesterday, Executive Engineer of DSCC Zone-1 Dr Mohammad Shafiullah told BSS that essential arrangements with waterproof shed, sitting place, toilets and ablution facilities have been set up at the Eidgah under the Dhaka South City Corporation’s (DSCC) supervision.
He informed that if the weather permits, on Monday at 8 am the main Eid jamaat of the holy Eid-ul-Azha is scheduled to be held at the National Eidgah.
Shafiullah said that today the DSCC Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon will visit the National Eidgah and brief journalists.
Like past years, he said that around 90,000 to 100,000 Muslim devotees can join the convention and special arrangement has also made for around 5,000- 6,000 women devotees.
He said that steps have been taken to ensure tight security and sufficient water supply in the Eidgah for the devotees to hold the Eid convention peacefully.
Around 100,000 Muslim devotees including the President, cabinet members, politicians, and diplomats will join the convention at the National Eidgah.
