At long last West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has opened her mouth over the controversy of actor Ferdous taking part in the campaign of Trinamool Congress during the last elections, reports Bangla daily Ajker Patrika. During a press conference on Monday, Mamata said: “A friend from Bangladesh came during the polls. He stopped to see a procession of TMC. Immediately his visa was cancelled. Does it make any sense? There is no logic to revoke his visa.”
“Actor Ferdous was not involved with the electoral campaign of the TMC. He only stopped to see a procession. Keep in mind that not only the minorities but also others infiltrate from Bangladesh, ” Mamata said.
Reports said that Ferdous Ahmed, who works these days in India’s Bengali film industry, campaigned for Trinamool’s candidate Kanaia Lal Agarwal from Raiganj in West Bengal’s North Dinajpur district on Sunday.
He was seen along with two other Bengali actors, Ankush Hazra and Payel Sarkar in the area close to the Indo-Bangladesh border.
