Jannati killing by pouring kerosene: Case not filed after two months, PBI also delayed

Ten-grade student Jannati has been killed by pouring kerosene in Narsinghdi Sadar Upazila in the district of Hajipur but after two months, the case was not filed in the police station.
Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) did not submit the investigation report even after the case was filed in court. The murderers are roaming publicly in the open air. Meanwhile, the family members of the girl’s are living in panic for continuous threat of killers.
On the night of April 21, when she did not cooperate with the drug trade, husband Shiplu and mother-in-law and sister in law have burnt her pouring kerosene. Jannati Akhter (16) died after 40 days in hospital.
According to the police and relatives of the Jannati, about 1 year ago, Shiplu Mia, son of Humayun Mia of Khacharchar village, was in love with Jannati Akhter, daughter of Shariful Islam Khan of Hajipur village of Narsingdi Sadar upazila.
After a few days, they ran away from the home and they got married. But after marriage her husband Shiplu stated torture upon her. Shiplu was involved with drug dealing when Jannati denied co-operating him, her mother in law and Shilpu use to physically assault her. Then her laws started to demand dowry at tk 50, 0000 but her poor family could not meet the demand. Resulted they killed her brutally.
