Miscreants torch Kalsindur School, prizes of female footballers
DOT Desk: Miscreants have torched Kalsindur High School and College, which is famous for its female footballers, in Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh, reports The Dhaka Tribune. Certificates, crests, medals, and other prizes earned by the female footballers of the school were burnt to ashes in the fire. Dhobaura police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ali Ahmed Molla said: “Unidentified criminals broke into the office room of the institution and set it on fire in the early hours. “The fire destroyed the certificates, crests, medals, and other prizes earned by the female footballers of Kalsindur High School and College,” he added.”The college administration has filed a complaint with us.
We are conducting an investigation. The ones responsible for this crime will be identified and brought to justice,” the OC further said.
When contacted, Kalsindur School Principal Ratan Miasaid: “The government had nationalized our institution, honoring the female footballers who have brought so much pride to the country. The ones who could not accept this are responsible for this heinous act.”
After visiting the site of the incident, Dhobaura Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rafiquzzaman said: “Police have been advised to look into the matter. We have to unravel the mystery behind this incident.”
