An appeal of a girl-student to save them from black smoke spewing from brickfields has become viral in social media, specially the Facebook. A Class-3 girl-student (Roll 2) Mayesha Monwara Mishu has dared to petition the Deputy Commissioner of Dinajpur last winter regarding polluting brickfields.
She writes in typical school exam handwriting that one Biplab has established a brickfield beside Hambatpur Government Primary School in Parbatipur upazila. Meanwhile, another person named Mukta has started a new brickfield. How will we survive, she asked. The handwritten letter said the brickfields are causing breathing problem, eye sore and increased environmental pollution in the area. Mishu appeals to district administrator of Dinajpur to save them from environmental pollution failed to reach the ears of the DC. The DC has not acted upon the appeal of the girl-student regarding her concern of health hazards from environmental pollution of the brickfields.
