A visible sign of a senior ASP’s love for Bangabandhu
Syed Rokonuzzaman Rokon, Special Correspondent of DOT:
A visible sign of a senior ASP’s love for Bangabandhu was noticed in Birampur upazila of Dinajpur on Sunday Morning, March 17.The day Sunday, March 17, 2019 was the 99th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On this day in 1920, the nation’s architect was born in Tungipara of Gopalganj.
Mithun Sarker, the senior assistant superintendent of Police (Sr.ASP), Birampur-Nawabganj went to Bangabandhu’s mural taking flowers in his hands inorder to pay homage by placing these with lots of interest and enthusiasm very early in the morning. But, reaching the desirable place, he found that the Bangabandhu’s murals have become obnoxious and dirty. And so he himself, taking the broom in his hands, fell down and started to remove the obnoxious and dirty things from the murals. This incident on Sunday very early morning , March 17, took place at the Bangabandhu’s mural located at Birampur upazila sadar’s Dhaka Mor in the district.ASP Mithun Sarker added a post in his own Facebook ID about this matter where he mentioned a full of words with the sorrow.
He shed tears when he had seen everybody is absent at Bangabandhu’s mural of there. Meanwhile, the murals have become obnoxious and dirty and specially these who were supposed to clean it for not getting anyone to him inspite of calling them over phone. Whatever, he himself removed the obnoxious and dirty things from the murals.
Finally he said, if I could destroyed all of the rubbish of the nation then that would have been the best gift for your birthday.
Mentionable, there is a correlation between March 7 and March 17 that culminated in the independence of Bangladesh on March 26.
Through his dynamic leadership, Bangabandhu organized the Bangali nation to fight against exploitation and repression by the Pakistani rulers. The movement culminated in independent Bangladesh through a nine-month Liberation War in 1971.
On August 15, 1975, the great leader, along with most of his family members, was assassinated by a disgruntled group of army men. Whatever, there is no one who doesn’t love him. He is really unforgettable.
Bangabandhu said, “my greatest strength is the love for my people, my greatest weakness is that I love them too much.”
And so ASP Mithun Sarker from his real love for Bangabandhu, getting hurt seeing the murals obnoxious and dirty, said “I could destroyed all of the rubbish of the nation then that would have been the best gift for your birthday”.
