A heart breaking story indeed

With a hungry stomach and me, my mother asked door to door for food every day. My father left us 4 years ago. She couldn’t work anywhere because of her illness. Several times a day I saw her holding her belly tight with her hands when she was in pain revealing a painful face. At those times I could not help her with anything except holding her tightly.
One morning my mother asked me,”Can you walk a long way with me?” I replied,“Yes I can go anywhere you will go!”
When we have reached here after walking 60 kilometers in almost three days in search of my father and food, I was sitting near my mother while she was sleeping. I did not understand why people were throwing taka and paisa in front of her! When a woman came with a big piece of cloth and covered my mother’s body, she asked me if she could help me to bury my mother. It took a long time for me to understand that my mother had left me alone!
I never saw my mother cry for food even when we were hungry for days. But in the middle of our journey I saw her crying uncontrollably when she asked for a ruti? for me and the owner of the restaurant came and hit her!
I miss my mother all the time. I also never cried when I was hungry or when people hit me, but every day I cry for my mother. I was not able to go with her where she has gone to now.
