Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman speaks to DOT :
Bagging 151 seats in the parliamentary election is very important for the political parties. The political parties will choose candidates who could come out victorious. People should remain vigilant so that none convicted in a corruption case could come to power.Person convicted for corruption is less eligible than a person accused in a corruption case. Persons found guilty and later convicted for various corruption cases in the past are no less criminal than the persons accused in different corrupt practices at present.
Corruption and political ideology are not a big deal. Because, changing political parties has now become a regular affair. People having the capacity to win the election will get nomination. You cannot say a government is good or bad before it comes to power.
The lawmakers should have a clean image and political and legal knowledge. People with no knowledge of law will not be able to formulate a law.
