Attack on quota protesters unjust

Dr. Ajay Roy

Dr. Ajay Roy, Physicist and Academic : The prime minister gave an order, to execute the notification. If the secretaries do not take action along with it, then it will be difficult to execute. The secretaries concerned should go for a good solution. The protesters have the right to organise press conference placing their demand. It was unjust to press attacks on them, instead.
The protesters should not follow any extremist means or paths. If followed once, it would not be an easy task to make them return from there. The law enforcers need to act in a more humble and restrained manner.
I do not want the quota system to be completely abolished. The scale of education and benefits differ from one district to another in our country. In some cases, especially for the indigenous group, there are still needs of it. They must have quota reservation for their advancement and progress.
The protesters stepped down from their cause upon the prime minister’s assurance. The PM and her administration are certainly well aware of this situation. Now there should be some rigid actions to whatever the commitments require. The more time they spend, the more complex the situation will get.
