Raj Abrar: Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) announced yesterday that the parliament incurred Tk 125 crore in losses over working hours in the incumbent House.
According to its announcement, the 18 sessions of 10th parliament counted a loss 152 hours and 17 min utes in total – an average of 30 minutes every working day, reports The Daily Star.
The statistics, announced in a press briefing held at TIB’s Dhanmondi office, were placed in a report prepared by the anti-graft watchdog.
Comparing it to India, Executive Director of TIB Dr Iftekharuzzaman said, “The parliament has spent around 35 minutes on an average in order to pass each bill whereas in India the average time for the same is two hours 23 minutes”.
