Dr. Md. Tazul Islam, Professor, National Institute of Mental Health What kind of mentality is reflected by ‘pouring stool’ on a teacher?
A video showing some miscreants ‘pouring stool’ onto a madrasa teacher, only to insult him, has gone viral on the social media. Any physically fit person can become ill seeing such a video, with possibilities of this happening being very high.
The fathers of such a heinous and latest method of crime must be brought to justice. Otherwise, others may also follow them in future.
It is not fair to insult anybody; even if the person is a criminal. One can be assaulted or humiliated in many a way.
But this is the first time I saw and learn someone getting publicly humiliated by being poured stool onto his head. I don’t know what the madrasa teacher’s mental condition is currently. Being a psychiatrist, I can say humiliation is a major reason for suicide.
I don’t know whether there is any worse way to insult anyone. This is the expression of disturbed mentality. This cannot be let continue. It is the state which is responsible for ensuring proper trial of the culprits.
Much has been told the social aggravation we’ve been facing. What kind of social degradation is that? Many people, especially the noted ones, reacted after a schoolteacher was made squat holding his ears. Will they now protest by discharging stool on this head? Would the state and society answer to this issue?
