Sofian Khan: At least 10 including a policeman got injured as angry miners and villagers clashed with the Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Ltd (BCMCL) officials yesterday morning. According to Habibul Haque Prodhan, officer-in-charge of Parbatipur Police Station, 6 got admitted to Phulbari Upazila Health Complex. Before this, miners and villagers who were affected by land subsidence placed 13-point and six point demand to the coal mine authorities and got refused. Miners among the 13-point, demanded to enjoy government holidays including their arrear. This lead the villagers and miners jointly calling an indefinite strike on Sunday. The villagers on the other hand sought for quick road repair which got harmed because of land subsidence and to compensate those who were affected around the coal-mining area.
