Tarique’s instigation evident behind anti-quota move: Mozammel

Sayeed Muhammad: Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq held BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman responsible for the quota protests being held across the country.
According to the minister, Tarique instigated the students those raised the anti-quota issue, reports The Daily Star.
“There was clear evidence that the movement was patronized by others. Tarique tried to turn the anti-quota protest into a movement to free BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia,” he said.
The minister was addressing a rally organised while inaugurating a road being built in the name of Freedom Fighter Rashidul Alam (Anis) by district administration in Kushtia, yesterday.
“The aim of this movement might have been an honest one, but later it turned motivated and BNP tried to take to the street through this movement,” Mozammel added.
He was flanked by Awami League advisory council member Rashidul Alam, district Awami League president Sadar Uddin Khan, senior vice president Haji Robiul Islam and general secretary Asgar Ali were present, during the programmed.
