Razequzzaman Ratan, central committee member, Basad 3 Ms and our polling system
We have a big discrimination in our polling system which is, a group of people is only capable of voting; they do not have the right to contest in the election. This is because those people are not affluent enough. So election has become a game of money and covered by the poisonous vapour of religious communalism. Money, muscle and media—these three Ms has grasped the electoral system. Noticing the first two judgments of the election commissions it is evident that one can exercise his or her franchise by just reaching the age of 18, but that very person cannot vie for candidateship for want of money. Is not the police a discriminatory one?
Since it is the state power that allows resisting graft and rivals, it is wanted by all. So, once getting into the state power, such people never want to quit. They do everything possible to uproot their rivals. Then again, the quarters become irritated about doing corrupt despite being in power, thinking that why ether were not being able to do so. This is why they go anxious to grab power. Hence, neither of the parties is close to democracy, as their ideology now is the desire of grabbing the state power. They have been using the method to expand their vote bank. The voting policy is not the source of money. And the culture of capitalism has turned into the custom of announcement. This is like once announcing: I declared my victory in an election. With such a political situation in place, the next general election is approaching. We want to witness how strong the election commission is, capable it is and how it works during the days to come.
