Bang-ladesh is going on joint ventures to establish power-plants in India & Nepal, in order to import electricity & suffice for the country’s power needs. Already, Bangladesh-India Friendship Company is planning on establishing a coal or solar electricity generation center. Such decision was taken during the joint-working committee meeting of Bangladesh & Indian delegates, in Delhi. Power Develipment Board Chairman Engr. Khaled Mahmud and Bangladeshi Ambassador to Nepal Mashfi Binte Shams informed these to the media. PDB & India’s National Thermal Power Company Limited will be managing this power-plant. Later, Bangladesh will be able to import electricity from that plant. Meanwhile, Bangladesh proposed to build Hydro Electricity Project in Nepal. Previously, Nepal government gave a list of 7 possible projects. But, no progress was made after that. Still, Nepal Mashfi Binte Shams believes that, Bangladesh will not face any problem in importing electricity from Nepal. Nepal authority has ensured of it, if their ends are met.
