Politician Covers up His Crime

Tanzim Taqrim

Rupert Tarsey carried out a burial attacks as a teenager. But he got elected in a local Republican Party. Tarsey assaulted a woman more than 10 years ago. After he invited his college classmates for smoothies, he talked to her about sucide and violently beat her with a claw hammer and tried to strangle her. But Tarsey never went to jail for the attack even though the charges against him could have put him behind the bars for life. Instead, Tarsey’s well-off family helped him erase him criminal past. He changed his name and moved from Beverly Hills to Florida. He also got a Master’s in 2013 and now owns a $1.3M condo. Tarsey is still in power even though some members of the part want him out. The politician is also privileged to have a second chance, which rarely happens in communities of color. Approximately 45% of people released from prison are sent back and black Americans are much more likely to be arrested again. People are underlining this as ‘white privilege’ in Social Medias.
