Annisul Huq: The rise of a remarkable businessman

The goodbye of a successful businessman and a well-known TV anchor and businessman, Annisul Huq came too heavy upon the nation. It was an early goodbye as the curtain on the colourful life of the 65- year old former FBCCI president came Mayor Annisul Huq. In the condolence message, the President expressed his profound shock at the death of Annisul. “The nation has lost an eminent businessman, a successful industrialist and a politician in his death,” the President said. Praying for eternal peace of Annisul’s departed soul, the president conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family. The PM recalled Annisul Huq’s contributions to the development of Dhaka North City Corporation with profound respect in her condolence message. “He will be ever remembered for his extraordinary work,” she said adding the nation’s loss of a dedicated and popular person representative in his death.The body of Annisul Huq is scheduled to arrive Dhaka today at 11am by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight. Following his 2nd funeral prayers at Army Stadium, his body will be buried at Banani graveyard after the Asr prayers, confirmed late Mayor’s personal Secretary Mizanur Rahman.The first funeral prayers of the late DNCC mayor has been held at Regent Park Central mosque in London after Juma prayers of Friday. He breathed his last around 10:30pm (Bangladesh time) at Wellington Hospital in St John’s Wood, London. He’s been undergoing after nearly three months’ treatment there.
