60% people of marginalised community victims of violence in 2016, says study

A study by Manusher Jonno Foundation at a programme at Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka on Wednesday reveals that since 2016, 60% people of the marginal community at least twice have been victims of different types of violence. A 33.9% members of household were victims of physical violence on an average.
Sultana Kamal and Shaheen Anam, Renowned rights activists and executive director of Manusher Jonno Foundation were present at the programme. The study also shows that around 32.3% of the marginalized community were mentally tortured by their surroundings who are basically from mainstream society.Sultana Kamal at the program said, this reminds us that we might turn into a shameful nation. A society loses its qualifications of a home to human beings as soon as people living in lose their humanity.
