Emmerson Mnangagwa, the new Zimbabwean President dissolved the cabinet of his predecessor Robert Mugabe and handed over two key ministries temporarily to two former ministers under the former regime. ZBC, the state-owned broadcaster announced this on Monday. As Mugabe resigned after the military takeover, his cabinet was disintegrated. Chief secretary to the president and cabinet Misheck Sibanda in a statement said that Mnangagwa is now processing to put together a new team of cabinet ministers. He also added that the new president has appointed Patrick Chinamasa as acting finance minister to enable uninterrupted services. Also, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi was appointed as the acting top diplomat.Just three days after the resignation of Robert Mugabe, the new president had sworn on Friday. After 37 years of serving to the nation, Robert Mugabe’s regime was taken over by the military in mid-november. Emmerson Mnangagwa has taken an oath to sweep changes in the government. For reviving the ailing economy in the country, he looks forward to implement new policies and attract investors.
