Even though garments industry is experiencing 6.99% more growth than the same quarter of last year’s. It is still lagging behind by 67% of the targeted mark, reports Export Promotion Bureau. Unfortunately, the exporting rate has decreased by 5% than the last quarter. But, it is commonly expected during September & October, informed BGMEA. Since, most shipments take place from January to August. However, business-owners are betting on the last quarter. The growth rate might boom at the end of current fiscal year, they believe. Despite of the decreasing of global demands on clothing, Bangladesh still has quite the market. Since their primary rival, China is shifting away their focus from garments industries to global IT markets. This might even open up the possibility for Bangladesh to catch Chinese buyers in the future, said Director of Denim Expert Limited Mohiuddin Rubel. Still, ensuring the implementation of the use of modern technologies & creating skilled workers, are must requirements to expect such long-term success, he added.
