Already a team of Bangladeshi engineers visited and surveyed Kathmandu. Soon, another team of engineers will start orchestrating the construction of a modern water management system in Kathmandu, and also teach them about it in the process. Managing Director of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority, Engr. Taqsem A Khanrecently informed these to the press.Few months back, a team of Nepali delegates visited Bangladesh to rally the request from their government, about their capital’s water management issues to DWASA. After the meeting, both countries decided to sign an EMU (Memorandum of Understanding). Most of the households & commercial establishments in Kathmandu, use deep tube wells. DWASA Engr. Azizul Haque suggested their government to license each of these wells. It will increase the government revenue. Meantime, he also suggested them to use the above-ground water sources as much as possible. In order to ensurethat, the underground water leveldoesn’t decrease below critical level.
