Nothing can stop BNP from participating in election: Moudud

BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed said nothing could stop BNP from taking part in the next election. He reiterated what seems to be the party’s latest stance just a day after he said they were going to take part in the election in whatever unfavorable situation it might be. He was speaking as a chief guest at a discussion organized by Jatiyatabadi Ganatantrik Andolan at press club yesterday morning. Moudud said: We want to bring back people’s right to vote, democratic right. He observed: “The administration is incompetent. There is no democracy. The The judiciary is not independent.” Terming the attack on BNP chairperson’s motorcade as the worst instance of the attack on media, Modud also said, “we want to bring back the independence of media.” In his speech, Moudud restated their demand of a poll-time helping government too, which can’t have a political identity. He also said Army must be deployed during the election. The BNP leader said the ruling Awami League would be compelled to sit with BNP for dialogue in face of the people’s movement. He said people want change. To Awami League, he also said, “Arrange an election. See where your support has gone down to.” He also said people can’t be intimidated for long by Rab, police. When the upheaval will begin also the administration, police will join the people against the government.
