Faruq Alam

The first Bangladeshi satellite, ‘Bangabandhu Satelite 1’ will be carried to Cape Carnival of USA, on a Russian cargo-plane, in January. The total project has reached 40% completion. Satellite work is complete and currently under thorough inspection at the Thales Alenia Space Factory in France. Now, it is only waiting for the finishing of its launch-vehicle, Falcon-9 rocket by Space-X. Final works of the project will begin in April-May.
This satellite will revolutionize the telecommunication network in Bangladesh. The services will be more efficient, effective & widely spread all over the country, assures Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood.
Unfortunately, the attack of Hurricane Irma in Florida, USA, has postponed the launch schedule, informed the Project Director Mejbahujjaman.
