Inauguration of World Food Day and Food Fair 2017 in the capital

‘Change the future of migration; increase the investment in food security and rural development’ on this theme, this year, the Ministry of Agriculture Bangladesh and Food and Agriculture (FAO) of the United Nations (UNO) took initiatives to celebrate World Food Day and Food Fair 2017. The food fair is being held for three days from 16 to 18 October in capital’s Farmgate A.Ka.Mu Gias Uddin Miliki auditorium premises. Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader MP visited the food mall as the chief guest and gave a speech saying, “We must admit that there has been a silent revolution in the agricultural sector of Bangladesh. The revolution started by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.” Honorable President from the standing committee of Agriculture ministry Md. Mokbul Hossen and Bangladesh Acting Representative of FAO David W. Dolan. He were present as the guest of honor in the seminar that was presided over by senior secretary for Ministry of Agriculture Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah. Staning committee member on Agriculture ministry Abdul Mannan and Director General of Department of Agricultural Extension Md. Golam Maruf also gave speech in the seminar.Former Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University professor Md. Abdul Mannan Akand presented a keynote paper on the theme. Executive director of the Agriculture Research Foundation Dr. Wayes Kabir also participates on this discussion. Furthermore, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) Bhaggo Rani Bonik also gave speech on this occasion.
