Parliament Employees Haven’t Been Upgraded to 9th Grade Yet, Despite of PM’s Direct Order

Parliament administrative & personal employees yet to be upgraded to the 9th grade. It was already announced by the PM Sheikh Hasina. Minister of Road Transport & Bridges Obaidul Quader already sent a DO Letter on behalf of the demands from these dissatisfied employees, to the Senior Secretary Dr. Mozammel Haque of Public Administration Ministry.The letter was sent on 8 October. That, clearly defined 23 categories of 2nd & 3rd class employees, to be upgraded to 1st class. Meanwhile, mentioned of upgrading the administrative & personal employees of ministry divisions, from 10th grade to 9th grade. Though, the first already in effect. But, second proposal yet to be implemented.Even though PM instructed to implement this. A part of employees are opposing. Thus, it is taking time, informs a representative from Bangladesh Parliamentary Officers’ & Employees’ Union. He added that, the request of promotion based on seniority is in the process. Authorities at the Ministry of Public Administration are looking into it.
