District Commissioners had already been appointed to monitor the rice markets. Now they are obliged to direct mobile courts as well, with the power of taking immediate actions. So that, crook retailers & rice-stocker culprits cannot succeed again in making the rice-market unstable again. This order was announced by Cabinet Secretary Md. Shafiul Alam at the recent DC Coordinating Seminar.
Meantime, instructions were given about the relief distribution & rehabilitating of the flood victims. Foods for the farm animals will be distributed as well. DCs of their respective areas will be taking direct responsibility.Though, there had been temporary estimated long-term shortage of crops & foods, due to consecutive floods this year. All those lacking had been covered. It is only matter of time before the goods are supplied to the consumer points. Any kind of irregularity in this process will not be tolerated, said Mymensingh DC GM Saleh Uddin.
