Industrial city of Bogra in trouble

BSCIC industrial city of Bogra, plagued by various problems. 80 percent of the country’s agricultural machinery is manufactured there. Uninterrupted power and gas facilities are not being modernized due to the factories can not be upgraded. Apart from this, the street owners, who are notorious for the drainage system, the industrial city officials acknowledge the problem and suggest the proposal to build a small budget second industrial city. Bogra industrial town was established on 33 acres of land in Dumka in 1964 and 1980 in Phulbari of Bogra Municipality. Here, 92 small and medium industrial establishments are set up in 230 plots. Manufacturing of agricultural machinery is a product of millions of taka, but no action is taken for its development. Road drain problems, with the lack of uninterrupted electricity and gas supply. Besides, owners also reported the problems of plot handover. They said, ‘these companies are going down due to electricity. If I invest in electricity, and then what will I get from the investment? 80 percent of agricultural machinery is from Bogra. It would have been better if we cooperated. ‘
