Price for the 50kg rice-sacks have reduced by 200-250 takas. After omitting the ban on the plastic-sacks imported rice prices have dropped, inform wholesalers. Prices of imported Indian Shorna & Rotna breeds, have decreased by 4-5 taka on average. But, this trend of decrease is yet to reach the retailer markets. Rice of Miniket & Nazirshail varieties are still being sold at 59 taka and 65 taka on average.
The rate of price-decreasing would be much slower than the recent hike, said Kawranbazar’s Chadpur Rice Agency owner Bacchu Mia.
