The imported rice from abroad is being sold to the general public through the OMS project. But before that the boiled rice was distributed through the OMS project. For a long time, people who are accus tomed to eating steamed rice are less likely to buy rice.
According to the Department of Food, rice is sold by 109 trucks in the capital on the first day of the sale of OMS rice. But in less than a week, the number of trucks has decreased to about 30. In the last one week, this total sale of rice in the country is 14,445 tons. Most of which have been sold out of Dhaka city.On Monday, a truck cell adjacent to the railway gate of the capital’s Kawran Bazar had no buyers there. In a while, a buyer named Sohel came and returned without rice. When asked why he did not buy the rice, he said that earlier he had bought rice from the OMS truck, they were perfect, but now I can see the quality is not good enough.
