As last year, there was uncertainty about the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Organization’s (SAARC) summit. Although it is usually held in November, but this year there is no constraint for the SAARC summit. On Friday, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj met the foreign ministers of SAARC countries on Friday at the UN General Assembly in New York. However, there has been no such progress in the conference, according to a report in The Times of India.Earlier, in 2016, the event was supposed to be held in Pakistan but it was canceled at the last moment. India has withdrawn from the conference after accusing Pakistan for supporting terrorism. The conference was postponed after seeing India and Bangladesh withdrawing themselves. But there are doubts about the conference this year. It is being speculated that the SAARC Conference, which has virtually been stagnant due to the fierce battle between India and Pakistan, SAARC will not see the face of the light anymore.Sushma did not mention the uncertainty of the summit in meeting with foreign ministers of SAARC countries. But for the first time, she insisted on suppressing terrorism.
