International media hails the Tigers

Tanzim Arnob
Yesterday after a historic win against the Aussies the international news reports noted that Bangladesh cricket team is clearly no longer the easy beats they once were, especially at home. News around the world indicates Bangladesh as one of the strongest team on field. The proud nation of Bangladesh is now being praised by the newspapers and media all over the world. Bangladesh are clearly no longer the easybeats they once were, especially at home. As Smith noted last week, they beat England in a Test last year.Even still, this 20-run loss is a bitter pill to swallow for a proud cricketing nation, one which only last year was the world’s top-ranked Test nation, and one that will slip to No.6 if it loses the second Test next week in Chittagong. –The Age, Australia
Australia are now just one more loss in Chittagong away from the ignominy of plummeting to No.6 on the Test rankings, but perhaps that’s an accurate marker of where this team is at. –The Daily Telegraph, Australia
But what a game. For Bangladesh’s part, they have defeated England and Australia in consecutive Tests at Dhaka – the first time for both occurrences. Their home of cricket is quickly becoming a fortress.
