Islamic pilgrimage to perform Hajj today

Hajj begins on the night of August 30 and ends on the night of September 4 in BDT (3 hours ahead the time in Mecca). The dates were announced on Tuesday by the Saudia Arabia’s Official High Court after first sight of new moon crescent witnessed by the astronomers and others.”There has been a confirmed sighting of the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah. Tomorrow, Wednesday, will be the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah,”said by the official Saudi Press Agency.It has been reported by the agency on Tuesday that by air, land and sea 1.2 million pilgrims has already arrived to the kingdom, according to the country’s passport directorate, comparing to last year it has increased to 27 percent. According to Islamic tradition, performing Hajj at least once in a lifetime in one of the five mandatory pillars of Islam. The pilgrims help their way to the Grand Mosque of Mecca once they are prepared for five-days of ritual.
