The Wire star Wendell Pierce was arrested on battery charges from Atlanta. The 52 year old star allegedly locked into an altercation with a couplevisiting the place during the same time. The argument started with political debates at Loews Atlanta Hotel. Pierce who is a huge supporter of Hillary Clinton got into an argument with the couple who, on the other hand,support Clinton’s opposition Bernie Sanders for democratic nominations.
At one point of the argument, Pierce is said to have followed the couple to their room. Apparently, he tried to break in and man handled the woman, reported the Atlanta Police.
However, Pierce denied any such allegations and no one required any medical attention.
Pierce withdrew from giving speech in a school he was supposed to attend following the incident.
He was arrested on Saturday and later released on the same day after signing bond.
Resident of Pasadena, California, Pierce was living in Atlanta for shooting.
Other than his role as Detective Bunk Moreland in critically acclaimed The Wire, Pierece known for roles on television shows including Treme and The Odd Couple as well as the film Selma.
