DBBL has started an International Virtual Credit Card Service under the instructions of Bangladesh Bank. This is basically to help the individual app developers, programmers and students to help with their online required transactions.
Who is it for?
The virtual credit card is basically for those programmers and app developers who needs to register in different app platform to publish their apps. Also, it is for the students and others who wants to buy apps online or need to enroll in some online course via payment.
What you need to know:
If you require a virtual card, for app developers and programmers they need to first take permission from BASIS. Based on their approval the card will be given to each individual. In the case of students, they need to apply at DBBL bank directly with necessary documents including the copy of passport or National ID Card.
Where you can use the card
The card can be used in any online marketplace whether it is Android, iOS, Blackberry and anything. You can buy games, apps, software license, do an in-app purchase, give exams, buy domains, host cloud service and all. Primarily speaking the card will have a validity of about 5 years.
Any restrictions?
Yes, the card have a yearly limit of $300 worth of expenditure. If any individual wants to extend the limit s/he has to show valid documents and give proper reasoning for that. Except for this, this card cannot be used for receiving money. Of course, for that, there are other alternatives such as Payoneer.
